Eyeless Creature Turns Out To Be All Eyes, 2023

‘Eyeless Creature Turns Out To Be All Eyes’ is a publication that looks at entanglement on different scales and levels in size, from quantum entanglement to tentacularity (coined by Donna Harraway).

It acts as a small guide through percieving reality as a whole, presented with the needed underlying theories of space, time, relativity and quantum physics. It is a poetic text examining our world from its smallest parts, all the way up to the largest scale our minds can imagine, and all the worldly ecological entanglements inbetween. In the publication I address how matter formation can be seen, partly through Karan Barad’s theory of agential realism.

The title ‘Eyeless creature turns out to be all eyes’, refers to a New York Times article discussing an invertebrate that merges viewing, living, being, morphing all at once and perfectly mirrors Barad’s theory of being in entangled space.  This being, and therefore the title, encapsulates what I’m presenting in the work.

The publication combines  physical theories, ecology, while treading into theories within political and social sciences, poetically interpreted and translated into a concise analysis. Finally, the text is supported by playful illustrations, acting as accessible visual explorations.
